Our adventure begins

Once we had launched we only had a couple of weeks before we had to leave.  Now that Steve had left the marina we knew we would have to start paying full whack so the last 2 weeks was non-stop.

Summer time had arrived so this gave us the evenings to continue working but still it was cold, very cold.  We were also finding other things on the boat that needed doing, some of them before we could complete scheduled jobs!!  I'm not sure why we didn't know about these before but I suppose if you're not looking for them you won't see them.  Also, as we were installing a lot of new equipment we were uncovering more of the boat than ever before.

Family & friends came to visit to say goodbye and finally we left on May 15th.  The weather was good, our spirits were high, we had started to live our dream.

First stop was overnight in our favourite place Studland in Dorset.  We arrived late so did not go ashore.  The following morning we decided to go to Swanage, which is only 2nm away.  We stayed here for 5 nights and the weather was glorious.  We used this time as our shakedown time.
